Your first women's health check: what to expect

If you have never had a dedicated women's health check, it can be hard to know what to expect. Here is what happens, in order, and what is optional.

The conversation

The first fifteen minutes are a conversation about your health, your history and anything you want to raise. Bring a list; nothing is too small.

The examination

Blood pressure, a general examination and, where due, cervical screening and a breast examination. You can decline any part of this and we will note it for next time.

Results and follow-up

Anything that needs a result is explained in person or by secure message within a week, and follow-up is booked before you leave.

Appointments are 45 minutes so there is time to ask everything. Use it.
