What patients ask before booking.
Do I need a referral to see a specialist?
No. You can book any specialist directly. If your plan needs a referral, our coordinators request it from your primary care doctor before the visit.
How soon can I be seen?
Most new patients are seen within seven days. Urgent concerns are usually seen within 48 hours; call us and a coordinator will find the earliest slot.
Can I choose my specialist?
Yes. Every specialist profile shows their focus, languages and next availability. If you are not sure, our coordinator will match you.
What should I bring to the first appointment?
Photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications and any recent test results or referral letters.
How do I reschedule or cancel?
Use the link in your confirmation email or call us. We ask for 24 hours notice so the slot can go to another patient.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
We are in network with most major PPO plans, including Bay PPO, Corvia Health and Westline Mutual. Our coordinators confirm your cover before you arrive.
Will I know the cost before my appointment?
Yes. Every booking comes with a written estimate for the consultation and any likely tests, so there are no surprises at the desk.
Can I pay without insurance?
Yes. Self-pay prices are listed on the Pricing page, and larger care plans can be split over three months.
Do you bill my insurer directly?
For in-network plans we bill directly and you pay only your co-pay on the day. For other plans we give you an itemised invoice to claim back.
What should I bring?
Photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications and any recent scans or test results. We handle everything else.
How long does the first appointment take?
Plan for 45 minutes with your specialist, plus up to 15 minutes if imaging is done the same day.
Can someone come with me?
Of course. Partners, family and carers are welcome in every consultation.
Is parking available?
Mission Bay and Palo Alto have free patient parking. Pacific Heights has metered street parking and is two blocks from the 22 bus.
